Privacy Policy

Big Box Chaser — Effective June 10, 2026

Big Box Chaser ("the App") is a personal PC game big box collection tracker for Android, iOS, Desktop, and Web. This page explains what information the App collects and how it is used.

Your Game Library

The games you add to your collection — titles, platforms, purchase details, and notes — are stored locally on your device in a private database. The App does not require an account or sign-in, and your library is not uploaded to or stored on our servers. (On the Web version, your library is kept in memory for the browser session and is cleared on page refresh.)

Game Search and Cover Art

When you search for games or view box art, the App sends your search query and image requests to our backend API (api.bigboxchaser.com), hosted on Cloudflare Workers, to retrieve game information and cover art images. These requests do not include any personal information beyond what is inherent to a standard web request (such as your IP address, processed by Cloudflare in the course of serving the request). We may use Cloudflare's built-in, aggregated analytics to monitor API performance and reliability.

Game Metadata (IGDB / Twitch)

The App fetches supplemental game information (summaries, developers, publishers, release dates) from IGDB, using an app-level authentication with Twitch that does not involve or access your personal Twitch account.

Crash Reporting

On Android and Desktop, the App uses Sentry to automatically report crashes and errors, helping us fix bugs. This may include your device model, operating system version, app version, and technical details about the crash (such as a stack trace). This data is not linked to your identity or game library. The iOS and Web versions of the App do not use Sentry.

CSV Export / Import

The App lets you export your library to a CSV file and import it later. These files are created and stored using your device's normal file sharing and storage mechanisms — we do not have access to them.

What We Don't Do

We don't collect names, email addresses, or other account information — the App has no accounts. We don't show ads, use marketing trackers, or sell or share your data with third parties.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a revised effective date.
